InfoLibrarian Search Appliance™ Supported Documents
Document filters scan documents for text and
properties. It also extracts chunks of values,
which are properties of an entire document or of
well-defined parts of a document. Once the
document properties are filtered and indexed, they
are available for querying
Properties are extracted from documents by filters
implemented for specific document types. The
indexing-related processing of the Search
Appliance takes one or more sets of
distributed documents and produces indexed
catalogs for those sets. The document sets can
reside on the local host computer performing the
indexing, or the documents can reside on a remote
computer.
To extend the power and
capability of the Search Appliance, you can
install many different additional
Filters. These Filters allow the indexing of other
file types. Some of the filters are free
downloads. Others are offered from third-party
developers and require either registration or
licensing. You can even write your own!
