The InfoLibrarian Studio Metadata Modeler™ is a visual designer that empowers data stewards to model and customize objects and properties, assign specific UI editors, and enable seamless user interfaces and automatic UI contributor form creation. This enhances collaboration between knowledge workers who use the InfoLibrarian Studio or the web-based InfoLibrarian Portal™ Data Catalog to contribute tribal knowledge or endorse data sets with governance or data quality indicators. Additionally, pre-modeled custom object properties can be programmatically mapped for API metadata ingestion.

InfoLibrarian Studio™

The InfoLibrarian Studio™ is a Windows based desktop metadata management and stewardship tool.

Tool Purpose

The InfoLibrarian Studio™ is the main management console for the product. The InfoLibrarian Studio™ runs on Windows 10+ and Server 2012-2022 (x64) platforms. The InfoLibrarian Studio™ is used primarily by information stewards, taxonomist or systems documentors to import, create, enrich and maintain metadata and documentation. The InfoLibrarian Studio™ is bundled with all versions of the product.

    InfoLibrarian Auto Scanner™ & CLI (Command Line Interface)

    Auto Rescan™ utility is a part of our server based products, but now we've included it in the InfoLibrarian Studio™. The Auto Scanner™ allows for command-line and/or scheduling of scans for automation. The auto scanner also tracks changes in history automatically. In our server products the InfoLibrarian Auto Scanner™ is a powerful multi-threaded/scalable server component of the product. On the desktop studio, the InfoLibrarian Auto Scanner™ runs in one process. The big difference being the total time it takes to perform full rescans. If you have a repository approaching several millions of objects, the server version is recommended. The auto-scanner can also be run in GUI mode.

    The Object Modeler allows you to identify anything that you want documented and define it. Additionally you can organize it the way you want. Think of it as having the ability to define templates for the metadata you want to manage in your environment. Build your own meta-model with no code or repository modifications. For example, you can create objects that represent:

    Stitching and Mapping Lineage Across Tools

    InfoLibrarian™ enables you to easily capture, define and map your business metadata, automatically displaying and categorizing it in the portal with terminology that is already familiar to your users. , you can define or import business terms and rules from various other tools.

    With a few clicks, business terms can be mapped to technical Metadata using the terms mapping tool.

    You can also define subject areas and taxonomies, map those to the business terms that will be auto-generated in the portal.

    Automated Stitching and Mapping
