The InfoLibrarian Studio™ is a Windows based desktop metadata management and stewardship tool.
The InfoLibrarian Studio™ is the main management console for the product. The InfoLibrarian Studio™ runs on Windows 7,8,2008R2 and Server 2012 (64 bit).
The InfoLibrarian Studio™ is used primarily by information stewards, taxonomist or systems documentors to import, create and maintain metadata and documentation.
The InfoLibrarian Studio™ is bundled with all versions of the product.
The InfoLibrarian Object Modeler™ allows you to create your own meta-model changes without having to modify any underlying database schema. This allows you to create extensions to your metadata model to capture additional information.
The InfoLibrarian Object Modeler™ allows you to identify anything that you want document and define it. Additionally you can organize it the way you want. Think of it as having the ability to define templates for the metadata you want to manage in your environment. For example you can create objects that represent:
Auto Rescan™ utility is a part of our server based products, but now we've included it in the InfoLibrarian Studio™. The Auto Scanner™ allows for command-line and/or scheduling of scans for automation. The auto scanner also tracks changes in history automatically.
In our server products the InfoLibrarian Auto Scanner™ is a powerful multi-threaded/scalable server component of the product. On the desktop studio, the InfoLibrarian Auto Scanner™ runs in one process. The big difference being the total time it takes to perform full rescans. If you have
a repository approaching several millions of objects, the server version is recommended. The auto-scanner can also be run in GUI mode.
The Auto-Scanner™ refreshes and maintains historical changes as they occur over time. This catalogs and safeguards the core knowledge about your environment, permanently! Immediate value from the technical metadata provides your technical personnel with reliable and accurate knowledge to help them more effectively manage and maintain your complex IT systems and interrelated processes. The foundation is built.
The InfoLibrarian Portal™ allows you to serve up a local website on your computer, and gain access to the entire portal capabilities available in all versions of the product.
The portal is deployed when you install the product, and it's available from a click of a button.
Scanners or adapters are specialized connectors that extract metadata and documentation from third party tools for indexing in the repository. You can choose from a variety of pre-built adapters and/or integrate custom adapters as well. Built in connectors are similar to adapters except that they are built into the desktop version and are provided for many common tools.
InfoLibrarian Studio™ is bundled with some common adapters to get you started.
The technical metadata as a foundation provides the true facts about the data and the processes that affect the data. This knowledge is already buried within your technology infrastructure.
InfoLibrarian™ adapters scour your source systems for you. They are powerful and robust and provide a high degree of scalability to perform reliably in the most demanding environments.
The technical metadata such as database schema, and processes that manipulate data like ETL Tools, custom processes, and source code, are indexed automatically within the Universal MetaMart™ in an organized structured format.
You have full access to this index using SQL or any tool you are comfortable with for reporting.
InfoLibrarian™ enables you to easily capture, define and map your business metadata, automatically displaying and categorizing it in the portal with terminology that is already familiar to your users.
, you can define or import business terms and rules from various other tools.
With a few clicks, business terms can be mapped to technical Metadata using the terms mapping tool.
You can also define subject areas and taxonomies, map those to the business terms that will be auto-generated in the portal.
Connect the dots between data, process, applications and code. The result facilitates visual lineage via the portal.
Using our Adapter SDK you can define custom mappings to facilitate automation of the mapping process for large data sets.
We also provide professional servies to assist your custom development effort.
